Reserves benefit from getting back to basics (March 15, 2008)

City Reserves 2 Snowdown 0

After a few weeks of poor performances, the Development Squad needed to get down to basics and work together as a team. And that is exactly what they did at Thanington.

City began well and had Snowdown camped in their own half for most of the first half. Chances came when Jason Anthony just missed at the far post when trying to connect to a fine pass from the right wing. Several other attempts were either saved or placed wide.

The second half saw much of the same from City who dominated. Their pasing game was first class. Snowdown did go close but with Adrian Gower making a spectacular save, the deadlock remained until the 81st minute when Adam Biznar placed his cross into a crowded penalty area. Anthony strentched out to latch on to the ball and started the scoring.  It had been a long time coming but patience and good build-ups finally paid off.

City extended their lead when John Lewis went on another run and at high pace crossed the ball for Karl Williams to head in.  All of the team contributed to this performance, which had been a long time coming.
